The UKRC is offering technical training grants to help women progress in science,
engineering, technology and the built environment (SET).
The focus of the grant scheme is to support progression at professional and technical
levels and increase retention at key stages in SET careers.
The grants may help with:
Moving from a support role to a technical role
Returning to a professional/technical role after a break
Moving up within a technical and professional career path.
Previous applicants have completed a wide variety of courses. Training at NVQ level 4 or equivalent is eligible within the scheme. Training
at NVQ level 3 may also be eligible where justification can be provided setting
out its direct relevance to your career progression (for example, in facilitating
one of the activities set out above).
Awards of up to £500 are available.

Dr Anna Ferguson (right) has successfully returned to a career in engineering as an electrical
engineer with NaREC after being awarded a technical training grant from the UKRC.
She used the £500 award to part fund her MSc in Electrical Power Systems at Bath
University.
