Training and events

The UKRC Services for Women team runs one-day courses and events across the UK on a wide range of topics. We aim to offer professional development training to women working at all levels in SET - whether you are looking for your first job, looking to return to or progress your SET career. Unless specified, all the workshops listed are free of charge.

Our one-day workshops include career planning, job seeking, networking, leadership skills, media skills, applying for public appointments, setting up your own business and more. They are a great opportunity to think about your career, brush up your skills and network with other women. Further opportunities, including those offered by external organisations are available on the UKRC's events pages.

photograph of Rajni BhardwajIf you are looking to return to a SET career, the Open University online course for returners would be a good place to start. The next course starts in May 2010 and you may be eligible for a UKRC bursary.

If you are currently working at a technical or professional level and are looking to progress in your career, you may be eligible for one of our technical training grants.

To find out how we can help, look at the Services for Women events calendar or contact us.

“Sharing similar issues and experiences with other women in the same boat really motivated me and gave me confidence.”
